Marija Jakubowycz (m.jakubowycz (at) ternopilska.com)

Founder of Foundation Ternopilska

In 2001 she came to Poland from Ternopil in search of work, assuming it will last not longer then a month, but now she had spent almost 10 years in this country. Firstly –  regular work for migrants: cleaning, caring for the sick people, child custody … There was plenty of different work! For 5 years now – she is a teacher of Russian and Ukrainian and an interpreter.  Since 2009 – Founder of the Ternopilska Foundation . Social work and volunteering for the Ukrainians – this is the implementation of her skills and experience. She feels most comfortable among books in libraries and bookstores. Reading together with others – a dream that had stayed with Marija for years. She likes Turkish coffee and cakes with poppy seeds (“palanyci z makom” ukr). Her Foundation invites people who want to implement plans and projects for migrants – especially the Ukrainians, the Ukrainian language and Ukraine. Marija wants to visit different countries and as many parts of Ukraine as possible, and last but not least – to learn several foreign languages.

Oksana Postyhach – I have got a master degree in International Relations (Lazarski School in Warsaw, Poland) and in Law (Ivan Franko National Univesrity of Lviv, Ukraine). My internship took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in Warsaw, where I gained experience in effective solving of issues concerning the residence of  ukrainians  in Poland. Work in the consular department of the Embassy helped me to understand that I want to help the citizens of different states in legalizing their stay in Poland, as well as their integration into Polish society. I like meeting new people, reading, traveling, watching documentary movies. I would like to be able to change my country of residence every 2 years.
