CONSEQUENCES OF  CULTURAL DIFFERENCES

This article aims to show the phenomenon of culture shock as one of the consequences of cultural differences, which unfortunately highlights the additionally influenced tendency for people to stick to what is familiar to them, their familiar surroundings and lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. Cultural shock, in principle, can not be avoided, but you can somewhat alleviate its course. It is also important to remember that you can’t develop resistance to a cultural shock and you will have to deal with it every time when you face with a new cultural environment.

The process of globalization (social, political and economic) is related to the mobility of the population. People leave the country for economic, political, demographic, cultural and social ones such as war, political and religious discrimination, unemployment (labor mobility), seeking a better life, a desire to ensure their children a better education, etc. After the Polish accession to the European Union – migration processes are becoming more dynamic, both to and from the country. Poland is becoming an attractive and open environment to immigrants, also like other European Union countries.
